If you ever had an opportunity to spend five minutes with Edson you know, he is a unique individual. Edson is full of compassion and generosity towards anyone he meets. He has a genuine investment in every life he comes in contact with.

My favorite thing to tell people when they meet Edson is "Watch Out! A 10 minute conversation you'll be okay. BUT if you get to the 15 minute mark....he will have you spilling your guts and crying like a blubbering fool! If you get to that point, hold on.....and listen well, because at the 20 minute mark Edson will start pouring into you, encouraging you and putting you back together piece by piece!"

Ed gives generously out of all parts of himself. If you need a friend to talk to, he will listen. If you are moving and need a hand, he's there. If you call him at 2 in the morning because you are in the hospital and scared, he will drive 2 hours to sit with you. If you are financially struggling he will go straight to the bank account and give whatever you need and more. He does all this whether he knows you or not; whether you've asked him to or not. That is who Edson Viapree is.

Now it has come to a point in his life, where he is the one that needs to be blessed.

Back in May, we received confirmation from the Lord that we were to move to New Mexico and be a part of a staff at a new church. We were excited about a new adventure, and a new community of people to be able to pour into. We set out on our journey with high expectations.

When we got to New Mexico, we were greeted with a beautiful rainbow reminding us that God is with us wherever we go. But to our surprise and detriment, 4 days later Edson ended up in the hospital with a stroke. We never saw it coming. For the first 2 days, the stroke reduced him to that of a 3 year old. His conversations didn't make sense, he couldn't retain information, he didn't even know the kids or my name. I didn't know what was going to happen with our future. Here we are halfway across the country, miles away from our family and he was no longer the strong, confident husband that I could always count on.

I poured my heart out to the Lord, scared for our future, scared for our finances, scared that I would not ever know the loving smile or touch from my husband again. In that quiet moment the Lord promised me with such finality that Edson will be restored 110%, and that all will be taken care of. I knew with such peace that this was true. The next day, nothing short of the miraculous happened. Edson began recovering! Slowly getting better with his recognition, cognition and overall health. By the time we got home from the hospital it was almost as if he never had the stroke! If I hadn't walked through it....I wouldn't have believed it!

When we got home, reality set in and we had hospital bills to pay, that we cannot afford. Unfortunately, when the stroke occurred Ed's insurance with the new job had not kicked in. The church was incredible and did everything they could to work with the insurance company to adjust our effective dates, but they wouldn't budge. We didn't know what to do, but God brought me back to that quiet moment and reminded me that all will be taken care of. We have already seen a small portion of this promise come to pass, but we are still in need of a miracle.

Edson has given over in abundance of what he has and who he is to everyone he has touched in life. Now it's his turn to be loved on and blessed.

Will you be a part of that miracle?
