Be a light for Taryn and her kids

One year ago in April 2022, my daughter's life was completely blown apart. She became a single mom to three children and two dogs after a life-changing divorce blindsided her. Taryn didn’t know what her future was going to look like or how she would get through it. After 7 months of grieving the loss of her marriage, in November 2022, she was diagnosed with Leiomyosarcoma - a very rare smooth muscle cancer. As her mom, it’s unbearable to know there is nothing I could do. This news was not only unbelievable but devastating to the whole family after all they had already been through. For all of you who know Taryn, she radiates kindness, and love, and is the most selfless, open-hearted human being you'll ever come across. She is also fun, sassy and hilarious! This diagnosis and cancer battle came at an extremely difficult time. Through all of this, she maintains optimism and strength derived from her faith. She is the most determined single mother and is mentally gearing up for the continued journey ahead, no matter where that journey takes her. Praise God we believe in Jesus and the power of prayer. Our faith has truly saved us! Jesus gave her a miracle on February 27, 2023 when her brilliant and committed team of doctors at Kaiser Riverside were able to remove the mass completely and do reconstructive surgery without any complications! She was counting on going back to work after recovering but the pathology came back with small clear margins of only .06 cm so she now faces radiation for 6 1/2 weeks starting in May along with immunotherapy to follow. This is all in hopes that this cancer will not reoccur, which can happen with this aggressive sarcoma yet we will continue to pray that Jesus will grant her another miracle!
She has been on disability since January of this year and can no longer make ends meet financially. Her main focus is her health and keeping her kids together in their family home. As a mom, all I want to do is make everything better however I am constantly reminded that through this trial there has come much beauty - her friends and family loving her, caring for her, helping her and praying with her and for her and the kids. Her church family was and is a constant rock of encouragement and assistance with every need from the beginning. Taryn's determination, strength and unwavering faith have encouraged me and shown me how tough she really is :)
We are asking friends, family and anyone in the community for financial support during this time. Any funds raised will go towards her household expenses and monthly insurance premiums so she does not lose her critical insurance coverage. We are all united in our love and concern for Taryn. Your prayers and positive thoughts would also mean the world to us. Sometimes it takes a village! We never thought we would be in this position but are truly thankful for all the beauty that has come out of the ashes -Taryn’s faith is stronger than ever. Her relationship with her children has deepened with more love and joy as they count their blessings and become stronger together. Your contributions and prayers will go a long way in securing her home life with her kids as they rebuild and battle through this journey together.
My prayer for all who read this: May the Lord bless you and keep you, and may His face shine upon you and give you peace...
Romans 5:3-5 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.
Taryn’s daily motto comes from a song by Matthew West called "My Story, Your Glory"
My story, Your glory
My pain, Your purpose
My mess, Your message
