Having gone to the hospital on a Monday for what seemed to be shortness of breath, we never imagined our older sister, Anita, would leave with a diagnosis of stage 4 lung cancer. It was a complete shock and unexpected as she has had no history of smoking, serious medical illnesses, etc. In a matter of a week after immediate testing, CT scans, bloodwork and doctors appointments, our lives were forever changed.

The fear of the unknown, the numerous what if’s and grief filled our home. Despite this heavy diagnosis, her doctors are confident they can provide treatment to prolong her life God Willing. Anita just started chemotherapy and her journey to fight this disease. As we all know the costs of medical, living, traveling to and from the hospital, and food expenses will be going up. She will be in need of financial assistance since she is unable to work anymore. Hence we, Anthony (her youngest brother), Fatima (her SIL) alongside the rest of her family members, have put together this page to help raise money to ease the financial burden off of her and grant her some peace of mind.

Anita is the most caring, loving sister who always puts others before herself. She is a single mother to a son, and is also beloved by her grandchild (a toddler), her younger brothers, her nephews and niece, her in-laws, and of course her mother. From a very young age Anita helped her mom (also a single mother) raise her three younger brothers. She previously worked as a hair stylist and loved making her clients feel and look amazing. Doing this is only a fraction of returning the favor of blessing her as much as she has blessed us and those around her. Any contribution is greatly appreciated. We hope to raise funds to gift her with before the bills come pouring in.
