Help Maximo Get the Surgery He Needs

Just hours before he was scheduled to be euthanized, Maximo’s life changed — because one man stepped up.

Jeff, a 100% disabled veteran, walked into the shelter and refused to let Maximo die. Despite his own personal struggles, Jeff couldn’t bear to leave Maximo behind. He gave this German Shepherd mix the chance to live, and Maximo became part of his little rescue family.

But now, they both need our help.

Max got into a fight with another dog and suffered a serious injury that requires surgery. The estimate for the procedure is $1,649–$1,840 (see attached vet bill). The heartbreaking reality is that the vet won’t move forward with surgery until the funds are raised — and Jeff, already stretched beyond his limits, simply can’t cover it on his own.

This man literally saved Maximo from death row. He was Maximo’s hero.
