Saint Thecla Orthodox Church in Wheaton, Maryland is a young and vibrant mission parish serving the greater Washington, D.C. metro area. Since our first service in 2019, our community has grown steadily—so much so that we have now outgrown two rented worship spaces.

With Montgomery County rental costs increasing and our current lease expiring soon, we are working toward the next essential step in our parish’s life: purchasing a permanent church home.

Thanks to the prayers, generosity, and unwavering commitment of our parish family and supporters, we have already raised nearly $267,000 toward our $850,000 down payment goal. (For perspective: in early 2024 we had raised $124,000; by March 2025 we reached $215,000—your support has helped us grow more than $143,000 in just over a year.)
