Please consider joining the family & friends of Aubrey & Leslie Barner as they wait on the miracle of a new heart for Aubrey. As many of you know, Aubrey has been waiting for a new heart for a long time. Recently, he experienced a medical emergency on February 20, 2024 due to a blockage in the Left Ventricle Assist Device (LVAAD) that was implanted in his chest in December of 2017 due to severe CHF. The device was designed to help his heart pump efficiently until he received a new heart. He has been on the heart transplant list for several years. As a result of the blockage, Aubrey has been moved up to priority status on the heart transplant list. And because of the seriousness of his condiiton, he must remain in the hospital until he has the transplant or emergency surgery to resolve the blockage in the device, whichever comes first. Aubrey's doctors prefer that the transplant come first, as the other surgery would be just a bandaid for his condition. We are hopeful that Aubrey will receive a new heart, in God's perfect timing, for the best outcome and that he remains stable in the hospital while we wait. We are so grateful for the wonderful support we have already received from friends and family via prayer, thoughtful meals, gift cards for meals, caring visitors, encouraging words via phone calls and texts, and transportation for Leslie to and from the hospital. However, there is need for a place for Leslie to stay nearby so she won't have to commute over an hour to and from the hospital. Additionally, the medical expenses are rising. If you are willing, please give what you can to help ease the load.
