Be a blessing to George

Update: July 2023: Please help out George if you are able. George is in dire straits. He currently needs money for food, rent, car insurance, gas, and a co-pay ($150) for his upcoming cataract surgery. His income has only been $700 a month since he retired (February 28th).

He was led to believe he would be receiving more, however, did not realize how much would be deducted for insurance. He has used all of the $7500 raised for him earlier this year.

He won't find out until September if he even qualifies for disability which he should. Then it could take longer to receive payments. He is also waiting for his social security benefits to kick in. We are reposting the GoFundMe to allow anyone who had wanted to give earlier to help George with his needs now. We are also looking into other local resources (a food pantry and/or food stamps) in Montgomery to get him through these challenging months until his disability and social security kick in. According to George, his rent is $915 a month, he pays $200 in car insurance and then needs $75-$100 a week for groceries. If you have any information to help George further with his needs in Montgomery, please let us know.

We are reposting this as a goal to help George get through the next couple of months as we seek a longer-term solution for his daily needs.

February 2023: Due to recent medical issues, George is having to take early retirement from his job. He is in the process of applying for disability, however, there is about a 6 month waiting period for benefits to begin. George has dealt with complications with his diabetes, challenges with his amputation, and other health issues. As friends of George, we would like to help him with his short-term financial needs. We have set the goal to assist him with $1000 a month. This money would help pay for his basic living expenses (food and rent). If you would like to be a part of being a blessing to George, please give towards this fund. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
