Please help us adopt!

Hello! And thank you for taking a look and considering helping us adopt a child. We have been married for almost 3 years now! We have been togethr almost 7 years total. We have a strong loving marriage and the only thing missing in our lives right now is a baby.

We decided to try to get pregnant in July of 2014. Just after a little over a year of being married. We knew we both wanted children and we were in a good spot in our lives to start trying. After about a year of trying in July of 2015 and still not being sucessful we decided it was time to go to the doctors and make sure we could concieve. We met with Dr.Robinson and told her our concerns and how long we have been trying. She then reffered us to an infertility specialist Dr. Hayes.

Our first appointment with Dr. Hayes was July 31st, 2015. We sat down with her and told her everything that we had concerns about. She examined Amy and did a semen sample on Chris. Everything was good on both ends. So she perscribed clomid to Amy to help her ovulate and drop more than one egg. Amy was told to also start doing a basil body temperature chart and at home ovulation tests. For this she would have to take her temperature every morning before she did anything. After taking the clomid on set days and times, taking the at home ovulation tests on set days and after doing the temperature chart for a month we had another appointment with Dr. Hayes in September of 2015. She looked at the temperature chart and saw that the clomid did not work. So she perscribed a stronger dose of clomid, Ordered an internal ultra sound for Amy, did some blood work and told Amy to continue to do the basil body temperature chart and ovulation tests. Amy went and had the ultra sound done 3 weeks later.

It was on October 9th, 2015 that we found out the clomid still had no effect and  Amy does not have any mature folicals.  The diganosis of this is called premature ovarian failure. Given this news we weren't quite exactly sure what this meant. Unfortunately, this meant we had to try and do a more aggressive approach to try to conceive. This meant injections which cost a lot of money (about $2,500 a cycle). Absolutely heartbroken by the news of not having any mature folicles and the news that it is now going to cost us way more money for meds we went home discussed our options and prayed about it.

Then on the 2nd of Novemeber Amy finally had a positive reading on an ovulation test. She called the doctor and they had her go in for blood testing to make sure she was ovulating and an ultra sound to make sure she had a mature folicle. We received the results that yes she was ovulating and yes she had 1 mature folicle later that day. So the next day we had an IUI done. This is a medical procedure that does a direct implant of the sperm into the uterus. We then found out a few weeks later that it did not work and Amy was still not pregnant. So then we decided it was time to go ahead with the injections not knowing how we would come up with the money. So we told Dr. Hayes that we would like to try it but wait until after the holidays.

As we went on through the holidays and new year and talking to some friends and family about what was happening, a friend asked us if we thought about getting a second opnion. And so we did. We had our first appointment with Dr. Ayers on Janurary 26th, 2016. We had our file from Dr, Hayes' office sent over. Dr. Ayers looked over the file before meeting with us and told us what our options were. He said Dr. Hayes ran all the necessary testing and there is no more that can be done. He did not want us to waist time and money on injections because he doens't believe it would work for us and it would just be a wast of money. He said that there was no way Amy can get pregnant using her own eggs.

So that brings us here. After many, many tears, nights of praying and discussions we have decided to adopt an infant. The cost of this is so much and we cannot do it alone. That's why we are seeking all the help we can get. It does not matter the size of your donation every penny counts and we would be beyond grateful for anything you can help us with. Thank you so much for reading our story and helping us in our journey to adopt an infant.

Love,
Amy & Chris
