BDT Stage Cast and Crew Relief Fund

Dear BDT Stage Patrons,

These are challenging times indeed. It has been devastating to watch our theatrical brothers and sisters lose their jobs as theaters and shows close. All dine-in restaurants and theaters have had to shut their doors for the greater good. Our collective health is the most important thing right now as we aim to keep everyone safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. 

With our doors closed we have only been able to offer limited financial support to our employees during this unknown period of layoffs. This includes cast, crew, orchestra, kitchen staff, bussers, and box office. We’ve had calls from many of you asking how you might be able to help. So, to that end, we have decided to start this GO FUND ME campaign. The money we raise in this campaign will go towards helping provide some financial assistance and relief to the employees from our BDT Stage family who are struggling to make it through this time. 

If you find that you are in a position to contribute to our cause, all of us at BDT Stage would be eternally grateful. We have put several tiers together as a way to show your appreciation and support for this 43 year old Boulder, CO theatrical institution. We are hopeful that, as a community, we will make it through this crisis, and be all the better for it at the other end. We wish you and your loved ones safe passage and good health. We thank you in advance for your generosity. We will be up and running as soon as we get the official green light. In the meantime we will keep the ghost light on our stage burning bright awaiting you return.

About BDT Stage:

BDT Stage (Boulder’s Dinner Theater) is a locally owned dinner theater in Boulder, CO. The theater has been in existence since 1977 and continues to be one of the best theater companies in Colorado. The Boulder Weekly describes BDT Stage as “a dazzling, rainbow-maned, spiral-horned unicorn; it’s a dinner theater that has been succeeding - for decades- at both dinner and theater. It’s conveniently located. It’s a locally owned, small business. In all the years I’ve been reviewing BDT Stage productions, I’ve never seen a bad one. Boulder is lucky to have it.”

BDT Stage has produced over 160 shows in its 43 year history and has been the jumping off point for many successful careers. Amy Adams, Tony winner Annaleigh Ashford, Tony nominee Beth Malone all got their start at the theater. BDT Stage continues to produce first rate theater and is proud to serve 5,000 - 6,000 patrons per month. It provides employment for around 90 creative professionals and actively helps support many local foundations and communities. 

With the COVID-19 outbreak BDT Stage has had to close its doors alongside many other businesses that serve live entertainment and food to our communities. Due to the closure the theater has been able to provide limited, if any, financial support to its many employees. The money raised from this fund is intended to offer financial assistance to our furloughed employees that are struggling to meet their basic needs during this time. Many of these people have relied on BDT Stage as their primary source of income for decades and are the heart and soul of the theatre.
