Dear friends,
My name is Brother Al Mascia and I am a Franciscan Friar, singer/songwriter, and playwright.
For over three years now, I have been traveling throughout the metropolitan Detroit region performing my original, one-friar musical inspired by the life of Blessed Solanus Casey, who is on track to becoming the first American-born man to be canonized a saint! (watch the trailer) Although we've been invited to bring this inspirational work of art to places beyond our proximity, we have been unable to do so due to the costly expense of renting a U-Haul truck to transport the set and equipment. At one dollar per mile, well, we just couldn't afford it!
But, miracles do happen! Thanks to the generosity of the proprietor of Byerly Ford/Nissan in Louisville, KY, we now have our very own cargo van! (see the picture)
The purpose of this GoFundMe campaign is to help raise the funds for the care and feeding of this generous gift. We're in need of securing enough money to pay for vehicle insurance, gas, and oil changes that "taking the show on the road" requires.
We're currently in the process of scheduling what we're calling the "Sharing the Hope" tour from Michigan to New York. The remarkable life story of Blessed Solanus Casey is truly one that deserves to be shared far and wide!
If there's any way that you can help us to accomplish this, we would be so very grateful!
Blessed Solanus would say: "Thank God in advance, it puts Him on the spot!" And so I have!
Gratefully,
Bro. Al Mascia, OFM
