Mickey and Susie are lifetime soulmates with no children and minimal extended family. Susie left her job as a nurse and used their life savings and retirement to care for Mickey while he suffered from severe medical illnesses. He is now in the end stages of rapid onset, debilitating dementia, and Susie takes care of him 24/7 in a hospital bed in their living room.
