My name is Tyler Engleman - I am a Seattle resident and current employee at Metro Dog in Magnolia. On September 27th, an electrical fire started in my room while I was at work, and most of my possessions were lost either to the fire itself or to SFD's efforts to extinguish the flames. This includes sentimental items from my childhood, which I had brought with me from California during my move to Seattle a few years ago. In addition, the fire caused residual damage to the house I share with four other roommates - mostly in the form of soot that has caked every visible surface and diminished the air quality to a dangerous level.
I am now looking for ways to not only replace my essential day-to-day items such as clothing, but also prepare for the fees that will be imposed by my landlord, pending a full evaluation of the damages. Unfortunately, the fire being deemed accidental by initial investigators from the City of Seattle may not fully shield me from repercussive financial action.
I am not one to ask for help, however, this situation has necessitated that I reach out to the greater community for support, as I navigate putting my life back together. I recognize that times are tough, and want to extend preemptive gratitude to anyone who donates, shares, or otherwise contributes to this campaign. Every little bit is greatly appreciated, and means more than I can express in text form here.
