Medical Bills for Dickie Dussia
Donation protected
I am trying to help my parents shoulder the burden of my dad"s (Dickie Dussia) medical bills. In February of 2014 he was diagnosed with Mesothelioma, an extremely rare form of cancer that is exclusively found in people exposed to asbestos. The cancer is of the lining of the body and thus is very difficult to treat because it touches all of the vital organs. In April, he went to Pennsylvania Presbyterian Hospital to receive surgery to remove the lining and photo dynamic therapy. This hospital is one of the only ones in the US to perform this surgery. He returned to Tallahassee in May and began chemotherapy. He is currently on round 3 of 4, and my parents will leave for Pennsylvania again in August to begin his photon radiation therapy. They need to stay in Pennsylvania for 2 months to complete all the therapy and check up appointments.
Obviously all of this treatment is expensive, but all of the travel and lost pay (my dad worked up until the day they left for Penn) doubles the blow. My mother is busy being his primary caretaker, which can be overwhelming because there are times that she cannot leave him at all. People have asked what they can do for us, which led me to set up this site. At this point the best way to help is to relieve their stress in any way possible. I am asking for monetary donations and prayers.
Please pray for a miracle daily, mesothelioma is incurable. Give whatever you can, every bit helps.
Thank you
