Whether he went by AJ, Andrew or Drew, one thing was always magnanimous and consistent
when he answered- his smile.
Andrew Joseph Summerfield’s smile was
infectious and luminous just like the joy he spread wherever he went. 
“Andrew was so loving, caring, and
spiritual,” Andrew’s mother said. “He talked about his personal relationship with God-- he was
bold with his relationship.
He had a vision for his future and the
family. He loved to laugh and he loved life.” 
Andrew, the youngest of two, was born and raised in Inglewood. While in junior high school he
was awarded the Obama Award for excellence in academics. His pursuit of
higher education brought him to Grand
Canyon University where he played rugby. Andrew was on an Academic Scholarship at GCU. He embodied the entrepreneurial
spirit of his grandfather and had
aspirations to launch more business
ventures of his own after graduation. 
Andrew, a loving son, brother, cousin,
and friend, took full advantage of this time at home to grow his love
and devotion to his church, family, and
Community. On January 5, 2021, Andrew was shot at Darby Park in broad daylight,
later succumbing to his injuries and leaving a hole in the hearts of those who have nurtured and loved him for the last 20 years. Any and all donations will help get answers for Andrew’s family
and friends and allow them to honor his legacy-- which can only be described as radiant and full
of love. Andrew’s love for his family, community, and friends knew no bounds and mirrored the
 appreciation he had for his education. The Summerfield family, in an effort to continue
Andrew’s life-long mission, has created a scholarship fund in his name so that those closest to
him can continue their education in his honor.
