Hi everyone, my name is Trish, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my good friend Bobby—someone I care deeply about and who truly deserves a helping hand right now. Bobby is a solid, genuine person with a good heart, and he’s been doing everything in his power to rebuild his life. But like many of us know, sometimes life knocks us down at the exact moment we’re trying our hardest to stand back up.
A few months ago, Bobby was in a car accident that left his vehicle—his only means of getting to and from work—badly damaged. He worked tirelessly to cover most of the repair costs on his own, but the car still needs additional work that he simply can’t afford right now. On top of this, he has an upcoming car payment, which makes the financial pressure even heavier.
Bobby is in early recovery, fighting every day to stay sober and move forward. As someone in recovery myself, I understand how overwhelming it is to start from scratch—to rebuild your life, your stability, and your confidence—all while managing the emotional and financial stress that comes with it. It’s not easy, and no one should have to do it alone.
Bobby works in construction, but the recent heavy rains put him out of work for a stretch of time. This unexpected setback has put him behind financially and created a real fear that things could spiral even further without some support. He didn’t want to ask for help—because that’s the kind of person he is—humble, hardworking, and used to carrying his own weight. But I felt strongly that this is exactly the kind of moment when community makes all the difference.
Having reliable transportation isn’t just about getting to work for Bobby; it’s also what keeps him connected to his recovery community, meetings, support systems, and the people who help him stay grounded. A working car isn’t a luxury for him—it’s a lifeline.
I’m asking from the bottom of my heart: please don’t let one of our fellow humans, and one of our fellow people in recovery, feel alone during a time when support could change everything. Anything you give—no matter how big or small—will go directly toward the repairs needed to get Bobby back on the road and back on stable ground.
God is good, and we are grateful for any generosity, prayers, or support you can offer. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for helping Bobby move one step closer to the stability he’s working so hard to build.
