On Thursday Sept. 30th Shane Lechler was driving back from Dallas with his son when he saw a car hydroplane off the road into a large road sign. Shane pulled over to help the driver. As he was helping her another vehicle lost control in the same spot and hit him, throwing him 30 yards through the air breaking his pelvis along with other lower leg injuries.
He was transported to Scott and White Hillcrest Hospital in Waco where has successfully made it through his first round of surgeries. However, he has been told by his doctors it will be three months before he will be able to stand again.
Please keep the Lechler family in your prayers for healing and safe travels as they commute to visit him until he can be transported back to town safely. Thankfully the medical and time away from work will be covered by insurance. The goal of this fund-raiser is to help cover any of the added costs that will inevitably arise throughout the duration of the healing process.
