Sophie needs lifesaving surgery!

Sophie needs a lifesaving 2nd surgery to remove infection and dead tissue from her original surgery.  She is scheduled for surgery tomorrow morning (July 11th) at 8:00 a.m. The vet is willing to collect the money as donations come in tomorrow and the next day. Donations may be made here via gofundme or by calling Avenues Pet Clinic directly at (307) [phone redacted]. If you are calling the vet directly, please make sure to say the donation is for Sophie the Pug.

May 2014: Sophie was alone in the Rock Springs, Wyoming animal shelter and due to a large tumor was to be euthanized by the end of the week. A group of people joined together to pull her from the shelter in Wyoming and transport her to Colorado Pug Rescue. Fortunately for Sophie, Dawn Wilhelm, one of the transport volunteers, fell in love and knew she had to give Sophie her Forever Home.

On Friday June 27, 2014 Sophie had her first surgery to remove a large mammary tumor. They wound up finding several more tumors so Sophie wound up having a full mastectomy. They had to open her up down BOTH sides, top to bottom, basically pull back the skin and dissect the tissue away. The breast tissue had spread across her abdomen and all the way down to her vulva.

After several follow up appointments and a second opinion at another veterinarian, it was determined that she must have this surgery immediately.

We thank you in advance for being a part of saving this precious girls life.
