Bath Comedy Festival 2025

Dear Bath Comedy Supporters

It has been a Herculean task to wean the public back into live performances. You’ll be aware I’m sure that the spirit of ‘carry on regardless’ resulted in a programme of almost uninterrupted live comedy since the pandemic, but the repercussions of Covid are still with us.

The Festival was lucky to receive generous corporate sponsorship from Lovehoney, Bath Ales and others before the pandemic, but since then we have endured four years without any sponsors. This, combined with our policy of producing affordable comedy for all means we cannot survive on ticket sales alone.

Nobody could have worked harder than Nick to keep the festival going through a horrendous period for all live entertainment, but there’s a limit to how long hand to mouth can sustain. And this limit is close to being reached.

Whilst very busy programming for next year and beyond, we are appealing to you all for your help to ensure the survival of the Festival.

We are forming an affordable Business Partners Club, which will offer a chance to be aligned with the Festival and other Bath Comedy events throughout the whole year, involve unique networking events, opportunities to entertain clients and discounts on comedy wellbeing/bonding workshops for staff, and demonstrate a commitment to the local community.

We are also seeking corporate sponsorship, so if you know of any individual, organisation or company that might want to consider the mutual advantages of sponsoring what Arthur Smith described as “The best comedy festival in England”, then Nick Steel would be more than pleased to investigate further!

Our Friends of the Festival scheme is another way to support – enjoy invitations to VIP receptions, discounted tickets, advance notice of popular events and more.

Now that Bath Comedy Festival is an essential annual part of our city’s cultural offering it would be sorely missed if it were to disappear; Bath has so much more to offer than just it’s beautiful old buildings, some of which will be used by Bath Comedy for the first time during the 2025 Festival.

Let’s do our best to keep Bath’s cultural and comedic heart beating!

In accordance with our previous tradition, anyone giving £100 or more will be invited to a VIP drinks party before the April Fools' Gala show on 4th April 2025.

All monies received will go to artists and the direct costs of bringing more laughter to Bath.
