Heart Surgery for Maria Regina

María Regina a los 6 meses de gestación fue diagnosticada con Síndrome de Down y una cardiopatía congénita (canal atrio ventricular
completo). También tiene hipotiroidismo por lo que también tiene medicamento para eso. Fueron muy difícil los primeros meses, ya que no podía ser operada porque no tenia el peso que requerían los médicos y tuvo varias enfermedades como influenza, gastroenteritis e
infecciones. Cuando cumplió 6 meses de edad tuvo la cirugía de corrección, y el resultado fue que quedo con una insuficiencia de la válvula mitral por una hendidura. La insuficiencia es SEVERA. El 3 de enero de 2020, a causa de esto, tuvo una taquicardia supraventricular, porque el atrio esta muy crecido. Mi hija estuvo muy grave esa ocasión pero logro salir adelante. Después de esto en mayo tuvo otra taquicardia
menos grave, pero causo mas daño a su corazón. Ahorita esta tomando mucho medicamento que necesita para mantener su corazón
mientras se realiza la cirugía.

Regina es una niña feliz, con muchas ganas de vivir, no es un angelito como se dice de los niños con Síndrome de Down, le gusta pelear con
sus hermanos, hace berrinches y mas… pero la bondad de su corazón supera todo. Ese corazoncito que necesita ser operado nuevamente
para reparar esa válvula que tiene detenido su desarrollo y pone en peligro su vida.

Hoy esta apunto de cumplir 4 años y aun no camina. Pido por favor que nos ayuden a que esta cirugía se realice. AYUDENME a salvar a mi
niña que es el motorcito que mueve a toda la familia.. ayúdenla a demostrar que a pesar de su discapacidad ella será independiente y un
ejemplo y un estímulo para otros niños que sufren la misma o alguna otra cardiopatía.

Desde el fondo de mi corazón les agradezco leer estas palabras porque para una mama… no existe nada mas importante que un Hijo.

María Regina at 6 months of gestation was diagnosed with Down syndrome and congenital heart disease (complete atrium ventricular canal). She also has hypothyroidism so she has medication for that too. The first months were very difficult, she could not be operated because she did not have the weight that the doctors required and she had several illnesses such as influenza, gastroenteritis and infections. When she was 6 months old she had correction surgery, and the result was that she was left with mitral valve regurgitation due to a cleft. The insufficiency is SEVERE. On January 3, 2020, because of this, she had a supraventricular tachycardia, due to  her atrium being enlarged because of her condition. My daughter was in very serious condition on that occasion but she managed to get ahead. After this in May she had another less serious tachycardia, but it caused more damage to her heart. Right now she is taking a lot of medication that she needs to support her heart while the surgery is being performed.
Regina is a happy girl, with a lot of desire to live, she is not a little angel as they say about children with Down Syndrome, she likes to fight with her brothers, she throws tantrums and more… but the kindness of her heart surpasses everything. Her little heart needs to be operated on again to repair that valve that has stopped her development and endangers her life.
Today she is about to turn 4 years old and she still does not walk. I ask you please to help us get this surgery done.

The surgery alone has a cost of $135k, that does not include fees for the month and a half or two stay for observation in the hospital or any other expenses.  Unfortunately we do not have the resources to pay for all of this, it is beyond our means.  That is why we are doing this
fundraiser.  HELP ME save my little girl who is the motor that moves the whole family ... help her show that despite her disability she will be independent and an example and encouragement for other children who suffer from the same or some other heart disease.
