#toosexyforcancer, help Carlos fight it!

There are a million stories out there of people in need. So many that you might be numb to it. Some are even questionable. It makes it difficult to put your pride down and ask for a handout and even harder to put your reasoning into words. What could I possibly say to make you understand a situation that I don't understand myself. I can tell you about the roller coaster ride he has been on over the past two years, but to me it's not about what he has been through, but where he is trying to go.  Hang around a bit with me please….

Carlos was first diagnosed on 6/11/17.  Since then he has been through many rounds of Chemo, DA-EPOCH-R w IT chemo, R-ICE, R-GemOx, GSK 3326595 (this clinical trial set him back the most. He dropped from 250 lbs. to almost 190 lbs.), CAR-T, R-lenalidomide-ibrutinib and took chemo pills Imbrivica and Revlimid.  He was potentially enrolled into a clinical trial mosunetuzumab/polatuzumab, but due to internal infection was disqualified. These are just to list a few, of what he has been through the last 29 months. The disease keeps fighting the treatments, but his body is fighting back STRONGER! He is fighting back, he wants to live.

Carlos, aka Moose, aka Candy Man, aka Big Man needs help.  He is kind, generous, loving father of two, wonderful friend and amazing partner.  While in the hospital, he would lighten up the hospital staff and walk around checking on all the other patients. He would walk around and give out candy to put a smile on people’s faces.  While at the Miami Dolphins games, we would be one of the last ones to leave the parking lot because he was too busy socializing with everyone. Christine, his 5-year-old daughter, is the sparkle in his eyes. She is his sunshine on his rainy days and his number one reason to want to fight and live.

When you've waited your whole life for that special someone, looking forward to planning your happily ever after together… Only to have it come all crashing down, finding out this life changing news. That you will now go from planning a wedding, to planning doctor’s appointments and treatments. I want to believe, I did not wait this long, only for it end this way… I believe we were brought together, to fight this fight together and that is just what we will do. It has not been easy, but it has only proven our love is strong and we will continue to do whatever it takes. He has fought a long fight, and plans to continue fighting, but right now the fight is a financial fight.  Financially to be able to seek options in other facilities across the country.  I don’t want the reason of any setbacks, to be because of a financial one. While our faith is in God’s hands and it is all in his timing, I also would like to help him live happy and not feel like a sick person about to die. So, in order for this amazing partner, and beloved father of 2, to take this next step in his mission to stay on this earth and be there for the ones he loves, he is going to need you. He needs you to donate, he needs you to share and he needs you to pray. He is not ready to throw in the towel and plus: he is too sexy for cancer.
