BC Robotics 2020 Build Season

Donazione protetta

The Blount County Robotics Team  is embarking on another challenging, yet thrilling competition season in FIRST Robotics. We are a team made up of approximately 50 students from public high schools and the Blount Home Education Association in Blount county.  Our team goal is to provide access to high quality academic and technical experiences for students interested in STEM.

FIRST Robotics is an annual worldwide competition where high school students design, build, program, a robot to compete with other teams to complete a set of unique challenges.  FIRST (For Inspiration and Recognition of Science and Technology) is an international non-profit organization that fosters collaborative partnerships with industry and community partners.  Through FIRST, students are exposed to real world engineering challenges, while learning valuable skills in a cooperative and team-centric environment.

The vision of FIRST Robotics as stated by founder Dean Kamen, is "To transform our culture by creating a world where science and technology are celebrated and where young people dream of becoming science and technology leaders."

All teams must pay to enter competitions and materials needed to develop and construct a new robot each year.  As a community team we can offset the cost through donations from local school systems, but we need additional support.
