BC Flood has left my mom homeless

Hello, my name's Tamara and I'm the daughter of Renee Schmitke. I am starting this fundraiser for my Mom to try and get her a new trailer to replace the one she has lost in the floods in Merritt BC in November.

I just started a new job and have also been affected by the flooding so I can't help her the way I want, the way she needs... and this breaks my heart... I can slowly replace what I've lost but watching my Mom go through this is the hardest part for me, and not being able to help her on my own is its own form or torment... So I'm pleading for anyone that can even spare just one dollar to please help if they can.

My mom has always been so kind and generous, sacrificing so much to help people and give when she can, and sometimes even when she can't... For the past few years she worked hard to get out of a toxic relationship and start over again. Life was going good finally after all the work she put in to getting a good job and moving to a new area in town with a new trailer with her little Shih Tzu, Buddy.

At 3am Monday November 15 my roommate and I were already evacuated from my place and rushed over to my mom's upriver at the Claybanks RV park here in town. She never got any warning, no one came into the park to evacuate anyone before we got there, and as we got her packing a few things, the dyke broke just up at the corner of the park. The river rushed into the park and as we left it was up to my car's headlights almost stalling my car. It was a terrifying night... Mom didn't have time to grab anything besides clothes and a few pictures that were hanging on the walls.

I can't replace our family photos or alot of what was washed away but I'm hoping I can at least try and get my mom a home again with the help of all of you. ❤️
