Support BC Women Class Action Suit

We are supporting the plaintiffs in this class action suit as they are advocating for all municipal police women (former and current). A successful ruling in this class action suit will ensure that police women who have experienced sexual assault, harassment, bullying, or discrimination are compensated for the harm they experienced in their workplace.

Your donation will be used for legal fees to retain the law firm. More importantly, your donation provides these brave police women with support in their advocacy for safety and equity within police organizations.

The plaintiffs have all left their original police department due to being subjected within their workplace to gender and/or sexual-orientation discrimination, sexual assault, sexual harassment, harassment, and/or bullying by other officers including management.

Helen Irvine – Delta Police Department – 8 years

Cary Ryan – West Vancouver Police – 5 years

Lauren Phillips – New Westminster Police - 5 years

Ann Piper – Central Saanich Police Department - 15 years

Unnamed due to publication ban – Vancouver Police Department – 16 years

A successful ruling also acknowledges the inequity and lack of safety that exists within the workplace for police women and holds organizations accountable to make the required changes to ensure work environments that are free of gender and sexual orientation discrimination, harassment and bullying.
