Scarlett is a kind, loving, creative, and active young lady that suddenly was struck by a temporary life changing medical condition (Transverse Mylitis) to her spine that has left her with inconsistant movement/function of her nerves. After a 3+ hour MRI, blood work, and other procedures to discover what the cause of Scarlett's condition is and how to move forward to treat Scarlett to get better as soon as possible. They are currently treating her with steroids to relieve some of the pain and swelling, and just in the past couple of days Scarlett has been able to sit up in a wheelchair which is a blessing since days before getting admitted into Cooks she had little mobility, energy, or ability to sit up without pain.
Sara, Scarlett's mom has had many sleepless, long days and nights receiving a lot of information, and trying to maintain strength for Scarlett. She has been unable to work, but thankfully her boss is being very understanding and accommodating. Currently they are uninsured until benefits start in January.
Sara and Scarlett are taking it day by day. As of now they are talking about Scarlett having to have a wheelchair, walker, and rehab to help get her back to her healthy self.
If you feel led to donate to help Sara with many medical bills ahead, she is grateful for everything.
