On Monday night Honu threw up her dinner. I woke up Tuesday morning to find a little more vomit but figured it was just an upset tummy as her energy and appetite were totally normal.

Tuesday night revealed more vomit and Wednesday morning she seemed pretty lack luster. At lunch I decided to take her to the vet suspecting an intestinal blockage. Knowing others who had gone through the same, I decided to act fast!

The vet did an X-Ray which suggested that she did have a blockage so they opened her up to be sure.

Turns out she had a fairly rare and inexplicible illness called hemorrhagic gastroenteritis which requires immediate and aggressive treatment.

She is my special little soul having already survived a wicked case of giardia and PARVO so there was no doubt that I would have the best possible medical care for her. That being said, it's definitely a challenge to cover all her costs.
