Bright Beginnings is a day care for homeless children in DC. They give the children a safe place to stay throughout the day, provide a pre-k education, and even provide professional development for the parents and many other job search resources during their annual "Workforce Development Week".
Alpha Kappa Psi proffesional business fraternity, Omega Theta Chapter at UMD fully supports their endevours. We have partnered with Bright Beginnings and are raising money to help them build a new location so that they can serve 100 more children!
Last year the Bright Beginnings Cultural Dance Show raised $2000 for Bright Beginnings, which is enough to send the children on a field trip, or purchase much needed books and childcare supplies for the staff.
On Friday November 4th Omega Theta is hosting the Second Annual Bright Beginnings Cultural Dance Show at Hoff Theater in Adele H. Stamp Student Union. Our goal this year is to raise $5000 for Bright Beginnings!
