On May 12th, our friend, bartender, and BBC Family Member Joseph D Polecaro was severely injured in a head-on collision.
Joseph has survived this near-fatal crash with blunt-force trauma from a near head-on collision. Both legs were trapped and severely injured in the crash. His left leg has a titanium rod through the entire tibia and his right leg has titanium bolts supporting his entire ankle assembly.
Joseph spent almost two weeks in the hospital and will not be able to return to work until late September.
Since his release from the hospital, Joseph has been confined to a wheelchair when not in Physical Therapy. While a full recovery is expected, massive medical and other bills continue to mount while Joseph is out of work.
Most of us know Joseph as a master of many things: Wine, cocktails made from homemade simple syrups, a master conversationalist and genius of the moon, its phases and the earth's effects on all that live together. He is a true renaissance man- World traveler, surfer, and he knows just about everything in the world of motorcycles! But today we are thankful he is alive.
Joseph takes good care of his patrons, friends, family and everyone he comes in contact with. Now, it's our turn to take good care of him.
