BBC helping support Angie Morales

If you have been cycling for 1 year or 10 years in our area, you likely know Jesse Morales. You may not know the unfortunate news that Jesse’s wife Angie has been ill for the last year. She has been through multiple screenings and procedures with limited success thus far. At this point it is believed that she has chronic inflammatory demyelinating polyradiculoneuropathy (CIDP). This is a slowly developing autoimmune disorder in which the body's immune system attacks the myelin that insulates and protects the body's nerves. This has taken her out of work and is currently severe enough that she is bed ridden. Angie’s mom has moved in to help Jesse take care of Angie and Jesse has moved to a new job to help w/ the medical costs and allow time for taking care of Angie.

The least we can do as fellow cyclists is offer some help to our good friend that we have ridden with so many times and/or been fortunate enough to have Jesse work on our bike.

So to put some fun in this good cause, the Brazosport Bicycle Club is holding a fund raising ride for Angie and Jesse to help w/ some of the medical bills.

Please come ride with us on Saturday Nov 6th at 8:00am. We will have 3 group rides. The rides will be 21 miles, 37 miles and 60 miles. Pick a ride that works for you or better yet pick a ride that challenges your endurance and train for it. Challenge your friends to sponsor your accomplishment by contributing to this worthwhile cause. We will have good food and social time for all the groups at the finish line.

The rides will all leave together at 8:00am from Cycleworks parking lot and the finish line will also be Cycleworks parking lot. Most importantly, please contribute!
