Mayele Felix Mapanda was a beloved son, brother, 5th out of 7 children in the Mapanda family, an African (Congolese-American) family.  He was a star basketball player both in high school and in college.  As a Navy vet, he proudly dedicated his life to serving his country.
In early June, Felix was reported missing from his home town of Patterson Ca.  The Patterson police refused to search for Felix in the first 48 hours, the most important time frame to search for a missing person. Felix was found 3 days later in the aqueduct canal by volunteers.  This is not a suicide. The family believes and there is strong evidence that suggests foul-play was involved that led to the demise of Felix’s life.  The Mapanda family is left with many questions and a huge void for their beloved son and have had little to no answers from the police.  But they are determined to get answers. Since day one, Local authorities have placed little to no importance in Felix's case.  The Mapandas have had to mobilize themselves organizing their own search with volunteers from the community to fighting tooth and nail to get answers for what happened to their beloved son. Felix's life Mattered! It mattered when he served his country in the navy and it matters now in his death that justice is done. The family is reaching out to the community, is reaching out to people like you for help in trying to find out the truth about what happened to their son.  They realize that alone they can only do so much, but together we have the power to go far and get to the bottom of the truth. With your help, they believe justice will be done for Felix.

The proceeds of $250,000 will be used to further the legal path in completing an investigation into the file play and demise of this United States Navy veteran.  The Mapanda family has used $45,000 of their money already seeking Justice 4 Felix.  If every veteran on active duty member contributes just $5 the goal will be met, however there is no limitation on how much you choose to contribute. We thank you United States Navy, United States Marine corps, United States Army, United States Air Force, United States coast guard, family and friends.   It is because  of people like you that we believe Justice will be done. Thank you and God bless you for your contributions.
