Dear Friends,
Today, I write to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. Our beloved Baz, the beautiful Irish Sport Horse x who brings joy and happiness to everyone in our stables, is in a critical condition. Known for his gentle demeanor and teddy bear-like presence, Baz is not just a faithful mount; he is a cherished member of our family.
Just last week, Baz fell seriously ill with a severe case of colic. We called the vet immediately, and for three long days, we fought tirelessly for his recovery. Thankfully, we received some good news yesterday when we learned that the gas had finally passed, but our relief was short-lived. The colic symptoms masked an underlying infection that has since caused significant swelling in his abdomen and hip area.
Baz is currently battling cellulitis, an aggressive bacterial infection. He is receiving the highest possible doses of penicillin, painkillers, and anti-inflammatories, and while we remain hopeful, the situation is still precarious. As you can imagine, his veterinary bills are piling up quickly, currently totaling around €400. With the recent bad weather affecting our stables and limiting our income, we are reaching out for your support. We are organizing a Family Day event, and all profits from this day will go directly towards Baz's medical expenses. If you would like to contribute, please consider joining us on Family Day or donating online.
For those who haven’t had the chance to visit the stables recently, I encourage you to come and see Baz. He is a gentle giant who has touched the hearts of many, and now he needs our love and support more than ever.
Thank you for being part of our community and for considering helping us in this challenging time. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a difference in Baz’s fight for recovery.
With gratitude,
Anna Walczak
