Baywood Elementary Marathon Fundraiser

Hi Friends and families of our Baywood Bear community, my name is Jessica  Sandoval, I am a parent and staff member of the Baywood Elementary here in Los Osos, for my birthday each year I like to do something fun and fulfilling for myself, normally an outside activity.  Well this year I decided I would train and run a Marathon to celebrate it, this would be my third marathon,my firsts one was The SLO Marathon back in 2018, my last one was the LA Marathon back in March 2020 right before Covid.   
 
After some thought I then had the fantastic idea to make it a fundraiser for our school as our fundraIsing opportunities are limited due to COVID-19, my brother in law Jorge Krede, my friends Esmeralda Pedroza and Patty Flores have been part of the training group  along with a friend in Argentina that will be doing this virtually, we have been training for almost 13 weeks now, Jorge is going for 50k/31 miles, Esmeralda and Patty are going for the 13.1 miles and I will go for the 26.2 miles, when the date comes we will have trained for 16 weeks and ran 400+ miles in this time of training. 
This event will take place on Sunday November 1st 2020, we will start at the the Baywood Elementary parking lot at El Morro at around 5:30 or 6am that morning, we will take the bike trail, then take Southbay to LOVR, continue past 101 in SLO, then take a right on South Higuera to the Octagon barn and turn around for the marathon  distance, the girls will start at that point after I reach it to start their half marathon, Jorge will  keep going until he reaches 25k and turn around, for this event we will ask if maybe donations can be per mile, like $13 for the half marathon, $26 for the full marathon or $31 for the 50k/31 miles, whatever you can do would mean a lot to our school, we will be grateful for anything that we can raise.  We thank you in advance for your support.

This event will happen rain or shine, the only reasons why this event would not happen is if there is a personal or family medical emergency or injury.
