Baylor Stacy Education Fund
Hello, I am Janet Stacy Newman. I am Graham's favorite and MUCH younger sister. On Sunday evening our family entered a deeply sad and heartbreaking season when we received news of the death of my brother’s wife, Macy. My sister-in-law had many things that were very near and dear to her heart. A voracious reader, a hunter of red tag sale items at Target, and the only person I know that likely had a VIP shopper card at ReStore Thrift Shop. Macy could not just find a deal….she could find the best deal. The style and quality of my Christmas gifts from my brother changed for the better when she came into our family. But her greatest loves beyond all of these things were….Baylor, Graham, her dogs, and education.
When Baylor was little her desire for teaching children was sparked. Being the wife of a law enforcement officer and a new mama is more than a full time job. In her headstrong determined fashion she went back to school and became a teacher. Becoming an educator allowed her to help she and Graham financially and give Baylor a wonderful school environment and a solid education. Macy began her teaching career at Terrell Academy and has taught there for the past 6 years. I have witnessed in the past few days how much the Terrell Academy family loves Baylor, Macy, and Graham. They have reached out in many ways with acts of love and kindness and it has overwhelmed our family. Baylor will begin his Freshmen year on August 12th at TA. Alan and I have decided to use this Go Fund Me campaign as a way to assist Graham in the years ahead to help with expenses related to Baylor’s education. The goal seems big but it will cover the estimated cost of four years of his tuition.
Macy’s funeral will be a private family graveside service. I ask that you continue to lift my brother, nephew and extended family up in your prayers. I don’t know the grief of losing a parent or a spouse but I know what it feels like to love a parent and a spouse so our hearts ache for them. I have been fervently praying the words of Psalm 34:18 for Graham and Baylor….The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.
