We are a group of medical students from Baylor College of Medicine preparing for a one-week medical mission trip to rural Guatemala from June 21–28, 2026. Our goal is simple but meaningful: to provide free primary care and health education to underserved communities that have limited access to healthcare. Our team includes 10 medical students, supported by attending physicians and experienced global health partners. Many of us speak Spanish, allowing us to better connect with patients and provide more meaningful care. This experience is not only about service—it’s about learning how to become more compassionate, culturally aware physicians.
Each student is responsible for covering their own costs. We are fundraising to help offset shared expenses, including medications and supplies for patients, lodging and meals, and transportation within Guatemala. Your support will help us make this clinic possible and ensure that every patient receives the care and attention they deserve.
Some of the most meaningful moments in medicine happen not in high-tech hospitals, but in simple rooms where a patient is finally heard, reassured, and cared for. In rural Guatemala, many patients go years without that moment. We’re going not just to provide medical care, but to offer presence, compassion, and connection—things every patient deserves. Thank you for helping us bring hope and healing to those who need it most.
