Hi everyone, I’m setting up this fundraiser to aid those affected by the fires raging through around the Bay Area. Last weekend, we experienced a tremendous thunder and lightning storm in the bay that sparked hundreds of fires and more to come. More than 65,000 people have been evacuated from the Santa Cruz mountains, and hundreds of thousands of acres have burned. Fire officials predict this size to continue to increase quickly. 

Right now, cities on the west bay are safe, including my town of Mountain View, but my heart aches for the thousands of families, livestock, and pets that have been suddenly uprooted from their homes and face homelessness in the time of a global pandemic. Shelters are looking for donations to provide relief to those affected, including tents, blankets/pillows, masks, and pet food. 

The purpose of this fundraiser is to collect funds from those who wish to help during this crisis. I will be using any funds raised to purchase said items, and work with other neighbors to get these items to the Santa Cruz fairgrounds shelter, where most of the evacuees have been sent with their pets. Any amount helps!

This is an URGENT situation. Many people evacuated with the clothes on their back and barely made it out in time as they woke up in the middle of the night to fires outside their windows. Please spread the word and share this post if you can! I will most likely be buying these items in the next few days and using any extra funds collected in the future to donate directly to relief agencies. I will keep this page updated as much as I can!
