You always hear that word- cancer. But you never think its going to happen to your dog, until it does.Never in my wildest dreams did I ever imagine I'd get a call from the vet telling me Baxter, at only 8 years old, has cancer . I'm truly living a nightmare I cannot wake up from. I recently took Baxter in for xrays because he started limping and it wasn't going away. On june 27th I got the phone call from our family vet letting me know his xrays showed cancer. I took him straight to an oncologist to get a second opinion who ultimately confirmed it was true. She was very honest and clear that I have 2 options. If I do nothing I'll have maybe 2 months left with Baxter. If I amputate his leg and get him chemotherapy, it will slow down the spread of cancer and I might get 1-2 years more with him, maybe more if I'm lucky. There is no question about it, any time I get with him is a gift at this point. I NEED help. All the help I can get. The vet bills just keep adding up. I will drain all my saving to save his life but even then, it will not be enough. Please help me save Baxter. Anything helps, anything.  I'm lucky to say I have never been in a situation where I needed other people to help me like I do now.  I need all the support I can get. Baxter, who is loved by many, needs help. Please help me keep him with us as long as we can. He still has so much love to give.  It's not his time to go yet. Please help us!
