Josh and I have been married for almost 6 years. We have always dreamed of having children.. two kids a house and a dog to be exact. For the past 6 years we have been trying to make our dream come true. Life however, had a different plan. After a few years of trying and a new job with some fertility coverage we were finally given the news everyone dreads to hear. We both have medical issues that will make it almost impossible to conceive on our own. Of course my husbands response to that was ... well at least it's both our faults and we cant blame each other ;) We finally had good insurance and a plan from the doctor IUI (intrauterine insemination). Hope had arrived! Our first cycle I didn't respond at all to clomid (a pill you take that helps your eggs become stronger and helps ovulation). My heart was crushed... but it's ok the doctor had another plan injection therapy here we come. (yay?) There was still hope and we were willing to do anything. I had to inject myself every night in the stomach at 8:00 pm exactly. I avoided soy, alcohol, sugar, eat lots of fruits and veggies, no processed foods, eat organic. I drove in to Irvine every 4 to 5 days for an ultrasound (not pleasant) to see how those pesky follicles were doing and growing, then when they were just the right size I had to have someone give me an injection for ovulation in the back.. right above my tush.. let me tell you, you find out real quick just how much your friends are willing to do for you. Josh was usually the one to do it but if he was out of town or I was at work at 8pm.. lets just say I have some GREAT friends. We have been through 6 failed iui's 3 cancelled treatments due to cysts, numerous painful tests and we have ended here.  Every month comes with a new heartbreak and we can not live our lives with empty arms knowing there was something we could do. Our last chance at starting our family is IVF (in-vitro fertilization) 80% success rate for people that have failed iui. We have met with a doctor and it is going to cost us between $20,000 - $25,000. Even though we have great insurance they do not pay 1 penny of this procedure. Most insurances don't. Josh and I have come to the conclusion that we can not do this alone. We will be forever grateful for those who are able to share our story or donate. Thank you for taking the time to read about our journey and we want to thank everyone from the bottom of our hearts for all the love and support we have received along the way. Our journey is not over yet.
