My name is Patrick Aycock. My mother, Elizabeth Aycock, has been battling lung cancer for over a year. It was terminal and inoperable. The cancer spread to her brain and spine. On Saturday, October 11, 2025, she suffered a major stroke. This left her in a state that required life support. My sisters and I had to make the hard decision to take her off that support. The doctors said even if she made a recovery, she would be and invalid and require 24/7 hospice care. Our mother made it clear to us that she did not want to be in that state and did not want to be revived. This stroke came suddenly and without warning. We were hoping to have her around for at least another year.
My sisters and I would like to have at least a somewhat proper memorial service for our mother. Our mother wished to be cremated and have her ashes spread. We are currently looking to raise a minimum of $3,200 to cover the cremation, but we would like to raise $5,000 for a simple service.
I have only just started working a new job and do not have the funds to cover the cost of my mothers final expenses. Neither of my sisters are financially able to cover any of the costs. It is up to me to ask all of you, friends, family, and strangers with kindness, to please help me and my family give our mother the respect she deserves.
