Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted supporters,
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Francisca Rojas Coste on June 1, 2025, after a valiant battle with lung cancer. Francisca was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend whose warmth, strength, and love touched the hearts of everyone around her. Her memory will forever live on in the lives she shaped and the community she cherished.
Francisca leaves behind her devoted husband, Epifanío Jerez, their three children, Denia Maria Jerez Rojas, Ramon Antonio Jerez Rojas, and Alejandro Jerez Rojas, as well as her adored grandchildren and many relatives and friends. Her passing has left an immense heartache, particularly for Epifanío, who stood by her side through every moment, and her family, who are grieving this tremendous loss.
Francisca’s deepest wish was to be laid to rest in her hometown of Cotuí, Dominican Republic, where she was born and raised. To honor her legacy and give her the farewell she deserves, we are reaching out for support to cover the costs of her burial, including the transportation of her remains to the Dominican Republic and funeral expenses. According to the U.S. Embassy in the Dominican Republic, repatriating remains can cost approximately $9,000 USD, with additional funeral expenses in Cotuí adding to this amount.
Your generous contributions will help ease the financial burden on Francisca’s family, including Epifanío and their children, during this challenging time, allowing them to focus on celebrating her life and saying their final goodbyes. Every donation, no matter how small, will help ensure Francisca is laid to rest with the dignity and respect she deserves in her native country.
We are aiming to raise 10,000-13,000 to cover these expenses. If you are unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with your network would mean so much to Francisca’s family.
Thank you for your kindness, compassion, and support during this time of sorrow. Let’s come together to honor Francisca’s memory and give her the farewell she so deeply deserves, reuniting her with her roots in Cotuí.
With gratitude,
Reyna
On behalf of Epifanío Jerez, Denia Maria, Ramon Antonio, Alejandro, and the entire Rojas Coste family
