Battling Rob's Cancer

Donation protected
In February of 2016, our Dad was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. This was a shock to us, his three children, because growing up we saw our Dad as larger than life, literally and figuratively. He soon after had surgery for a colostomy and then began chemotherapy, which he has been on since.

On top of these devastating developments, his partner of eight years has been overwhelmed by this situation, perhaps because she lost her husband and father to cancer within the last 10 years. While she is clearly going through a difficult time and we wish her well, our sole focus is on our Dad’s mental, medical, and spiritual well-being.

With help from others, we’re supporting our Dad financially to the best of our ability, but having been out of college for only a few years, our ability is limited. In addition, our Dad has depleted his savings trying to battle his cancer.

We decided to start this Go Fund Me page and ask for the support of our family, friends, and anyone who has been touched by this terrible disease. This money will be used for housing and living expenses.

When he was diagnosed in February 2016, the doctors gave our Dad two years to live. However, his unyielding optimism and resilience make us hopeful that he’ll beat those odds. He often speaks of seeing his son play in his final season of football and graduate from college. He also talks about walking his daughters down the aisle and meeting his grandchildren. We hope to see those days with him too.

We would be so grateful if you could please help us.

Sincerely,
Caitlin, Caroline, & Robert Wood
