Updated update:
The infection on my incision is almost healed up. I have had an open wound for over a week and it should just be one more week. I will start 5 days a week for 5 weeks of radiation on march 1st. Everyone is telling me it's going to make you really tired and you will feel like you have a bad sunburn . I'm very nervous but also hopeful that I don't get too many side effects and the follow up CT scans will show everything looks good. I can't have any more set backs.
Update:
I went into the hospital on January 6th and had 5 days of IVIG treatments leading into surgery on January 11th. The surgery had a few setbacks when the realized how intrusive the cancerous tumor had become. They had to put me on heart and lung machines and remove part of my lung and a ton of infected tissue. Then the hard part starts, 8 weeks of very painful recovery. I have to follow up with 6 different specialist, including an oncologist, and we still don't know if radiation will be needed. It will be a long road but I have the best support team to help me through.
i was diagnosed with myasthenia gravis and a large tumor was discovered on my thymas gland and heart. I will need surgery and expensive medication and treatments are needed for an undetermined amount of time. We were already struggling to make ends meet and now I will be out of work for a minimum of six weeks. With the high cost of hospital bills, prescription costs, and specialist visits on top of rent, utilities, and keeping 2 amazing boys happy and fed, I don't know how we are going to manage. I understand it has been a difficult year for all of us, and we are in the holiday season, but any help you can give would bring tears of joy and a little stress relief in this difficult time. I don't know how I'm going to recover from essentially open heart surgery, or if I will be able to return to normal, but I do know with all of your love and support I won't stop fighting. I want to thank everyone for all of your love, kind words, and support. You have touched my family and we are forever greatful to all of you. I do have some very low days and your positivity is keeping me going.
