Hello! I’m Brianna Morgan. I’m from Virginia. I am creating this fundraiser for myself and my 12 year old son, Harlem.
My story may sound familiar; perhaps you or someone you know, have experienced this.
I am a medically complex person who has been legally declared disabled. Type II diabetes that’s currently uncontrolled due to circumstances, SLE (systemic lupus erythematosus), diabetic gastroparesis, and other complications. I am Autistic and ADHD, CPTSD, and PMDD.
I am currently unable to maintain meaningful and gainful employment due to a combination of my medical conditions being uncontrolled, in addition to the psychological toll of losing everything and remaining chronically unhoused.
My goal with this fundraiser is to get the financial support needed to get us into safe, stable housing and cover several months of rent and deposits for utilities, get me back well enough to seek and maintain employment, be able to purchase furnishings for a new home, and make some repairs to my vehicle.
I have been looking for homes to rent and I have found several that would be affordable with SSI and a part time job. There are some people willing to work with me and my circumstances but I cannot hope to come up with the necessary financials without support.
I had been approved for a special housing program for people with disabilities, however, that program was cut when DOGE gutted federal funding. I was left with little to no recourse or support.
I had been working on my credit at the time and despite my best efforts and raising my score significantly, I am still unable to qualify for a proper loan, which is why I turned to this platform.
I reached out to relatives and friends, but I was turned away unfortunately, for one reason or another.
So today, as just a person, I ask you, if you have the means to be of support and assistance to my son and I, to please consider making a donation here. It is my hope that this will be a one time ask and that once I’m back on my feet and my illnesses are back under control, I can make it on my own and pay it forward to others who need support. Every dollar you contribute is a step towards ending this horrific cycle of fear and poverty. A literal opportunity for God to make miracles happen in our lives.
The world is changing daily, and with so much uncertainty in this country, the need to feel safe and well is growing more than ever. So I pray that God has laid it on your heart and moved your spirit to be of help and service to this family. The world needs change, and we can only achieve it together.
