Battling lung cancer while caring for my family
Donation protected
Just a few weeks ago, I was diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. Because I'm an over the road truck driver I can't work at all while I'm going through treatments. I have to have 4-6 chemo/radiation treatments, so that's 4-6 months without my income. Our family relies on two incomes to be able to live.....our house payment plus repairs that our home needs to make it safer for me to live in during my treatment since I'l be immunocompromised. I've been out of work since March 23rd and it will be who knows how much longer before I get my short term disability (which is less than 1/4 of my previous income). With all the copays at doctor visits (4 just this week) plus paying for my insurance and deductibles out of pocket with no income, it won't be long before we are struggling to eat. I absolutely hate having to ask for help, but my family is more important than my pride right now. Anything at all would be a blessing.
