Battling Cancer; Richelle’s Road To Recovery
Hi,
My name is Liz, Jordan and I met Richelle when we all worked for the same nursing home asCNAs and Richelle was working towards her LPN. She always had a smile on her face and always had a positive outlook on life! When we met she was going through a lot with her family and just getting custody of her granddaughter, Aubree! If you didn’t already know, she has adopted 6 beautiful children-Adrenne, Alex, Asia, Leighanna, Malique and Madison. Richelle is ALWAYS there for everyone else and you know you can always count on her! Which is why we figured if this was a small way to repay her for all she has done, than we would help in any way that we could.
In the beginning of January, Richelle had gone to her primary care doctor who had seen something on a Pap smear, while going to her followup with her OB and finding out that everything was fine, the OB had asked about a mammogram and really pushed her to get one done andof course, Richelle agreed because it had been a long time since the last time she went. So, offshe went to get her mammogram not thinking that the results of this normal yearly exam for women would completely turn her life around.A couple of days following the initial exam she got a phone call saying they saw something on the mammogram and that she needed to get an ultrasound to be sure. She was scared and full of anxiety but knew this is something she needed to handle, she went to the ultrasound where at which point the doctors already pretty much knew, this was cancer and she would need a biopsy to confirm but they told her to be prepared. The doctors moved pretty quickly from the time the ultrasound came back, set her up for a biopsy and prepared her for the removal surgery and what was to come! Beginning of February, the biopsy came back, it was confirmed, it was indeed breast cancer. As soon as they found out they set up her removal for February 19th, where she would be put to sleep and the 1cm mass would be removed. Richelle has a family to take care of still, a husband, a house, bills, children and animal children, unfortunately though she is unable to work due to upcoming chemotherapy which will be once every three weeks for 6 sessions and then radiation which is 5 days a week for 6 weeks. She is waiting on the results of the pathology report to see if any has spread to her lymph nodes as the her2 came back positive, meaning it is a fast spreading and aggressive form of cancer. But life and bills still don’t stop, we want Richelle to beable to focus on recovering and not have to worry about the bills, where the food is going to come from or how she’s going to get through this without being able to work! Her husband Jeff is an amazing man and will do whatever he has to for his family but we would also like to take whatever burden we can off of them at this time so they can focus on Richelle and kicking cancers butt! Jordan and I really appreciate any contribution you can make or any share that this gets, we absolutely adore Richelle and herfamily and like we said before, we just want them to focus on Richelle’s recovery! Richelle has always been an amazing friend and support and that’s all in return we want to be for her❤️ Thank you for your time! Please, help us, help Richelle and her family not have to struggle through this already difficult time!
