Hi my name is Danielle and I am fundraising for my Mom, Alicia.
In April of last year Alicia was diagnosed with Pancreatic Cancer. It was detected "early" and they found a tumor that's in the pancrease. Since then we have gone through countless rounds of Chemotherapy to shrink the existing tumor so she would be able to get a procedure called The Whipple.
December 13th she went in for surgery and it was not able to be completed because they found that the tumor was wrapped around a major artery which called for a Vascular Specialist, so they closed her back up and she went back for another month of Chemotherapy.
March 2nd she went in for her second surgery to remove the tumor. The doctor performing the surgery took out her gallbladder and rerouted her intestines but he found 20mil of fluid that tested positive for cancer cells in her abdomen, he removed the fluid. Even though all of her organs are clear and nothing has metastasized, this meant that she no longer met his criteria and he did not remove the tumor to complete her surgery. The only solution they can offer her in Co is chemotherapy.
We will not accept this answer and plan to travel to the Mayo Clinic in AZ for second opinions, since this is the best hospital for her specific cancer that can offer us more options then the ones given to us here.
I ask for any type of assistance you can offer to help with travel expenses and over flowing of medical bills and prayers for the oncoming future.
Please share this link to reach out to as many as possible.
Thank you and God Bless.
