Battle for Blake
Donation protected
Throughout my college experience, I have met many individuals who have impressed me beyond expectations, people who have pushed those around them to become better friends, better students, and better individuals. There is no better example of this kind of individual than Blake Reisman, a sophomore in my fraternity who dedicated himself to what he believed in and left a tangible impact on anyone who has had the oportunity to meet him.
Early this past fall, Blake was diagnosed with Stage 4 Hodgkin's Lymphoma midway through his third semester at IU. It's hard to understand and appreciate the impact one individual can have on an organization until they leave, and having to watch Blake leave his family at IU for his recovery was a difficult time for many members of our organization.
At the same time, it's also difficult to fully comprehend what ideals a brotherhood stands for until you are put in a position to make a difference. Many people join organizations, clubs, and fraternities during their time in college to become apart of something bigger than themselves. Our goal is to show that brotherhood isn't defined by a name or a charter, but by acting in a way that shows true commitment to one another.
We want Blake to come back and rejoin his IU family when he is healthy and cancer-free, and we want your help raising awareness for Hodgkin's Lymphoma and funds for an Endowment Fund in Blake's name at the Children's Medical Center Foundation in Dallas, TX to help kids with cancer get the treatment they deserve for years to come.
