My name is Amanda and I am reaching out in regards to my incredible and selfless mother, Belinda Kubicki. In January, she had a CT scan with a lung nodule that prompted a PET scan at the end of February which confirmed the nodule as well as an enlarged lymph node. Final testing with a biopsy was done on April 3 and later confirmed she has been diagnosed with small cell carcinoma. On April 23, she began her first of four rounds of chemotherapy every 3 weeks and will begin local radiation very soon. After all that, she will receive immunotherapy to train her own body to fight off cancer cells and then receive additional radiation elsewhere to prevent its spread.

As you can imagine, our world has turned upside down and followed immediately by her worry and anxiety on how to take care of herself, family, and the house/bills with this new diagnosis. The doctors say this is CURABLE and if anyone knows my mom, she wont let anything take her down unless she says so. I want to relieve her of some burden so her body and mind can focus on healing, which means she may need to miss some days of work down the line.
