My name is Daniel Wasinger. I haven't really shared my health situation with many people. I guess it's because I like to believe that I am independent and can take care of myself. But, some very good friends offered me the push that I needed to ask for help.
I have owned a business for several years and was always a very active person in the community, but this year has become quite challenging for me because of my ongoing and new health issues. I've tried to maintain my medical and living expenses, but at this point, all of my reserves have been used since my situation has drastically changed.
In the past, I have been able to work through my issues of COPD, pneumonia and various infections, but something new has developed this past year. I have contracted Ramsay Hunt Syndrome and it has caused a variety of very painful and physically debilitating conditions. RHS is a shingles virus that attacks the ear and affects the nerves. Essentially, my face became paralyzed, I've had severe pain in my ear, lost part of my hearing, and balance is a big issue. Much of the time, I need to wear an eye patch in order to prevent eye damage and loss of sight. It took quite a while to find a local physician who specializes in RHS because it is such a rare disease. I'm fortunate to have found a very good neurologist and pulmonologist.

I recently had another flare-up that was pretty severe. I was hospitalized again and was in respiratory failure. I have been treated for a double infection, rhino virus, and pneumonia. The doctors also noticed from brain scans that I previously had a stroke. Other tests have revealed that I am at the final stage of COPD (End Stage 4). These occurrences have weakened my immune system.
Results of the nerve damage from these illnesses find me with very low oxygen levels, shaky hands, eyelid drooping and twitching along with the inability to walk any distance and take proper care of myself. These complications require additional therapy, various equipment, medications, and in-home care.
There is no timeline for any sort of recovery from this, if at all. I just have to take it one day at a time. But, I am hopeful that one day I can gain some of my health back.

I really do need help and would be grateful for any contribution. Your help will assist me with expenses such as day-to-day living costs, rent, utilities, phone, groceries, medications, in-home care, housekeeping, and laundry services.
Thank you so very much for reading my story. I would really appreciate it if you would please share my campaign with your friends.
With much gratitude,
Daniel Wasinger
