Battle With Barron

Barron is the son of our wonderful friends Luke and Ashley Shoemaker.  At the end of September, he went to the hospital with breathing issues, which quickly developed into respiratory distress. Upon further investigation they discovered that Barron was experiencing heart failure and he was taken by life flight to Texas Children’s in Houston.  While Barron initially began to improve, he reached a point where he was unable to be weaned off the medication that is helping his heart to pump. The doctors now feel that the next best step for Barron is a heart transplant.  Ashley and Luke are some of the best people you will ever meet and right now they are terrified, nervous, and stressed as they deal with a parent’s worst nightmare. We have started this Go Fund Me to help relieve at least some of that stress by trying to assist financially. Barron will be in Houston until after his transplant and the cost of medical bills, food, lodging and missed work is huge.
