It is with a heavy heart that John Hightower has been diagnosed with a rare advanced stage of cancer. He is a great husband, father, and friend. Anyone who knows John Hightower has experienced the intimate and authentic ways in which he shows up in the world. His wholeheartedness has cultivated many young men and women to become productive citizens has always been his passion. As a Bethune Cookman alumni and a retired Deputy Fire Chief of Orange County, John has been very strong and determined to fight this progressive cancer. After his surgery, John remained optimistic but his most recent scans indicated metastatic growth in other areas. Conventional medical treatment has been ruled out and John has agreed to Nonconventional medicine as a form of treatment. This alternative treatment method is required immediately beginning with a series of injections, followed by other forms of treatments that are not covered by his medical insurance. John is expected to undergo extensive treatments for the remaining of this year. A GoFundMe page has been set up on John Hightower's behalf.
