On December 23, 2025, I went to the emergency room for uncontrollable pain in my sternum. After a CT scan with contrast, the ER doctor sat me down and shared that I needed an oncology referral immediately. She had found at least three lesions spread in different areas of my body: my sternum, back, hip, and liver. Over the next month, I was diagnosed with aggressive, stage four metastatic cholangiocarcinoma.
Since then, my life has changed dramatically. I am in treatment three weeks a month, and my medical team is already preparing for clinical trials when chemotherapy is no longer effective. The physical and emotional toll is heavy. These funds will go directly toward my medical bills and living expenses, helping me keep the lights on and maintain some stability during this incredibly challenging time, particularly in the second half of this year. Work had been incredibly supportive while I take the time off to heal.
I’m so grateful for all of the love and support I’ve received from friends, family, and coworkers. I’m making the best of my situation, spending time as I can with my loved ones and my two furry pals, Scout & Charlie. Thank you for considering supporting me on this journey. Your kindness and generosity mean the world to me.
I’ve added a Caringbridge site to help navigate updates as I continue treatment.
